Almost all the best King of Fighters games are available on modern systems but one game has currently been stuck on 7th gen hardware for too long. KoF 13, the pinicle of video game sprite work and one of the hardest combo trails in fighting games as sadly been stuck in the past for too long while other SNK favorites like Mark of the Wolves, KoF 98 and KoF 2002 have all gotten rollback enabled modern releases.
But No longer!
SNK has announced a brand new version of KOF13 at Evo Japan 2023 this weekend, which is finally going to add rollback netcode to the legendary fighting game.
The King of Fighters 13 Global Match was briefly shown off in a new teaser trailer that fans have been asking about for pretty much a decade. Aside from rollback and improved online functionality, there's not much else known about what Global Match will be adding / changing compared to the original release, but we can at least presume it'll come packing all of the previous DLC characters and items.

KOF13 Global Match is being developed for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, which is a bit interesting considering that PC and Xbox were the only places to play KOF13 on modern hardware at this point natively.
There is no release date given though an open beta test for Global Match's rollback netplay is scheduled to go live early on this Summer on PS4.
Lets just hope that the Switch version also gets the rollback and that not TOO many people break their joycons trying to complete the trials.
