Gordon made the switch to the Magpies from his boyhood club, having previously been linked with a summer move to Chelsea. Toffees fans will have found it hard to see one of their own depart the club, even more so for those who have the club's 2023 calendar. When supporters flipped the paper this morning, they were greeted with a smiling Gordon, the featured player for the month of February this year. Even though they gained a big fee for the winger, the Toffees failed to sign anyone in the remaining hours of the window. They were also the only Premier League club not to make a signing in January despite their worrying league position of 19th. Gordon has recently signed for Newcastle But he has featured on Everton's calendar for February Everton's only new arrival in the month was Dyche Such a lack of transfer activity could spell bad news for the blue half of Merseyside this season. Sean Dyche has recently been appointed as their new manager following the sacking of Frank Lampard. The former Burnley boss has experience of surviving the drop and Everton fans will be hoping he can replicate such success at Goodison Park. They were narrowly able to avoid such a fate last season, but things could be even tougher this time round as they face the prospect of Championship football. Gordon's departure could impact their chances of staying up, with the youngster now playing for top four contenders Newcastle.
