The Blues have managed just one win in their last 11 games, and failed to record a victory in any away match since October 16, but Potter does has the backing the board.
More worryingly for the Blues boss, though, is the fact he will now be without one of his star players for most of the remaining games this season.
According to the Evening Standard, Silva is expected to spend over two months out on the treatment table, with scans confirming knee ligament damage.
The club have since provided an update on the severity of the Brazil veteran's injury and posted a statement on their official website on Tuesday.
It read: "Having sustained a knee injury during the first half of Sunday's match against Tottenham Hotspur, Thiago underwent further assessment and a scan on his return to the training centre on Monday.
His injury is a huge blow for under pressure boss Potter
"Scan results from those assessments have confirmed damage to Thiago's knee ligaments and he will now work closely with the club's medical department during his rehabilitation to return to action as soon as possible."
Silva has been instrumental to Potter's backline, continuing to show his qualities despite his side's underwhelming campaign, with Chelsea currently languishing in tenth.
