Despite deciding to fight Derek Chisora in December, Tyson Fury is still willing to meet Oleksandr Usyk in the ring.
After Usyk beat Anthony Joshua in their rematch to defend his WBA, WBO and IBF world titles, he was immediately called out by WBC champion Fury for an undisputed clash in December.
A fight between Fury and Usyk is being eyed up for February or March next year
Usyk declined, however, saying he needed to recover from various injuries and spend time with his family, but would be willing to fight Fury next year.
Not wanting to wait, Fury decided to fight Chisora in a 'keep busy' bout on December 3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but says that, should he emerge victorious, he wants the Ukrainian next.
"If I get through this guy, Chisora - God willing - then I'll fight whoever's next after that," Fury told BT Sport.
"If Usyk can be made, if they actually want the fight then we'll do that fight next, provided I win and everything goes right.
"You can't count your chickens before they hatch, but that's the fight I would like next."
With that being said, there is a chance that when Fury and Usyk do meet, they may not be able to compete for all four belts.
IBF mandatory challenger, Hrgovic, could stand in the way of an undisputed fight between Fury and Usyk
The IBF have ordered Usyk to defend his title against mandatory challenger, Filip Hrgovic.
Typically, Usyk's team would request a delay to his mandatory obligations so that an undisputed clash could be made.
But, in this case, promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that he has requested immediate purse bids, which could make a delay not possible.
This could scupper any chance of seeing the first undisputed heavyweight champion crowned in the four-belt era.
