It sounds like a BIG John Wick video game could be coming. During a recently held earnings call, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said that executives at the entertainment company have been "fielding proposals" for a new video game based on the movie series.
"I don't want to get ahead of myself here, but we believe there is a big AAA game to be made out of John Wick," Feltheimer said during an interview with IndieWire. "We have been fielding proposals. We certainly are interested in moving that forward, but I don't want to say anything more about that at this time."
This would not be the first John Wick-inspired video game. In 2019, Mike Bithell launched an indie game based on the movie series called John Wick Hex.
This would be the first AAA John Wick game, meaning it would require a sizable budget, as IndieWire puts it. Although, it sounds like that is something "that eager fans have been demanding for years."
First released in 2014, the John Wick neo-noir action-thriller film franchise has led to three movies so far, with two more on the way. John Wick: Chapter 4 is scheduled to come out this coming March. There will be a fifth installment in the franchise coming out after John Wick: Chapter 4, but that movie's release window has not yet been announced.
