Hasim Rahman Jr reportedly could have Shannon Briggs or Greg Hardy step in as late replacement foes to face him on Saturday night.
The American heavyweight, son of former champion Hasim Rahman Sr, was due to return against Vitor Belfort on a KSI-promoted Misfits Boxing show in Austin, Texas.
Rahman Jr was supposed to fight Jake Paul earlier this year, but weigh issues scrapped the fight
However, Belfort has been ruled out due to COVID at the start of fight week.
Rahman Jr reacted by tweeting: "Prayers up for @VitorBelfort, get well soon champ.
"Inshallah I'll take care of business Saturday and we can make it happen 2023."
He then followed up by adding: "Y'all gonna LOVE this new opponent."
According to BoxingScene, it will be either Briggs or Hardy.
Briggs is a former heavyweight world champion who faced the likes of Vitali Klitschko, Lennox Lewis and George Foreman in years past.
Briggs remains a notable name in combat sports
Now though, he is 50 years of age and has not fought since 2016.
Hardy is an ex-NFL defensive end and MMA fighter who has now also turned professional as a boxer.
The 34-year-old turned pro just one month ago and won by second-round knockout against Michael Cook.
