Darwin Nunez is still looking for his first Anfield goal but Liverpool fans have been told not to panic.
The Reds' record-signing drew another blank in the 2-0 victory over Rangers in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Nunez is yet to hit the heights expected of him
It continues a slow start to the Uruguayan's career in England and talkSPORT host Jason Cundy admitted Nunez has a long way to go.
"Liverpool, last season, would've got four or five against Rangers," Cundy said on The Sports Bar.
"It's a little bit underwhelming. At 2-0, that game is not over and Rangers had a couple of chances towards the end.
"He has just joined Liverpool, it's a huge football club and a massive fee, but he hasn't yet reached the levels of Sadio Mane.
"That's tough because Mane was one of the very best in Europe. So he has a long way to go."
However, England legend Stuart Pearce insists that while Erling Haaland has made an astonishing start at Manchester City, others can struggle before establishing themselves as superstars.
Pearce is not writing off Nunez just yet
He highlights Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Reds hero Mohamed Salah as examples to reassure Nunez.
Pearce told the talkSPORT Breakfast: "It is very difficult to settle in this country. Henry is a great example.
"He wasn't the best player the Premier League has ever seen when he first arrived.
"We're talking about people that haven't settled very well. All Nunez has to do is turn is head, look to the right and see Mo Salah.
Henry did not hit the ground running at Arsenal
"He came to this country, didn't hit it off, go away, get more self-esteem, now look at him.
"There are so many examples."
