The world-famous Italian soccer team AC Milan recently announced it was joining forces with MonkeyLeague to launch a new collection of NFTs built on the Solana blockchain. This partnership will let fans mint AC Milan Rossoneri-branded NFTs that come in the form of wearables while also giving holders access to in-game tournaments.
Also, MonkeyLeague will work closely with AC Milan to launch a new collection of in-game assets which include MonkePlayers, stadiums, and skins. The first batch of NFTs was auctioned off on October 6th on MagicEden. Some AC Milan MonkeyPlayers will also come with physical AC Milan jerseys signed by the team.
On top of that, MonkeyLeague will launch its first MonkePlayer NFT breeding season in conjunction with AC Milan. This will allow players to obtain AC Milan-branded assets following the conclusion of the breeding process.
"We are thrilled to kick off this partnership with MonkeyLeague, a collaboration that allows us to strengthen our positioning in the field of digital innovation," said Casper Stylsvig, the Chief Revenue Officer of AC Milan. "We are particularly proud to be the first football club to partner with MonkeyLeague, bringing this game to our supporters around the world and offering them a new innovative way to engage with their favorite team."
MonkeyLeague is a strategy-based soccer game where users build and manage dream teams made up of six MonkePlayer NFTs. The game's economy is based on in-game assets as well as MonkeyBucks ($MBS), which hold value inside and outside of the game.
