Forest travel to the Etihad having succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at home to Tottenham on the weekend, and could climb as high as seventh in the table if they secure an unlikely win.
The two managers have met each other once before, in an FA Cup tie in 2021, when Guardiola's City side secured a 3-1 win away at Cooper's Swansea time in the fifth round.
The last time City and Forest faced each other was almost 14 years ago in the third round of the FA Cup in 2009, when Championship side Forest ran out 3-0 winners at the Etihad.
