Cristiano Ronaldo seemed to enjoy Manchester United teammate Donny van de Beek's dribbling skills.
The pair were caught on camera warming up for their 2-1 Premier League win over Liverpool, when the Dutchman's moves left a lot to be desired.
Ronaldo is known for his trickery and stepovers, but Van de Beek's skills left a lot to be desired
But Ronaldo enjoyed them nonetheless
Van de Beek's expression suggested he was in on the joke
Ronaldo was surprisingly dropped to the bench alongside captain Harry Maguire for the game, with Erik ten Hag's bold tactical changes paying off hugely.
Fan footage recorded ahead of the match showed out of favour Van de Beek attempting a brief dribble and multiple stepovers past Ronaldo, who at first didn't know how to respond.
Ronaldo is known as the king of the stepover and the 37-year-old smiled as teammate had some fun possibly in an attempt to cheer him up at being axed from the first XI.
The Portuguese superstar would have undoubtedly been disappointed by the news, and spent part of his warm up greeting Gary Neville and Roy Keane and snubbing Jamie Carragher live on television.
Van de Beek has barely featured for United since signing from Ajax in 2020 for £35million, even spending the second half of last season on loan at Everton where he made just seven appearances.
Van de Beek has only made brief appearances off the bench and it seems like Ronaldo could end up in the same position
A reunion with his former coach in Amsterdam, Ten Hag, promises a brighter future for the midfielder, but so far he's played just 19 minutes as a substitute in United's opening three games.
The Mirror claim Van de Beek has impressed in training at Carrington, and Ten Hag spoke about the player upon arrival.
Asked if he was excited to work with Van de Beek again, Ten Hag said: "Yes, of course.
"We had a fantastic squad in that time at Ajax. I really had a good relationship with him. Of course I am looking forward to meeting him again on the pitch."
