Luis Suarez has confirmed that he will be returning to Uruguay to join his boyhood club Nacional. The striker will be returning to his home country after sixteen years playing in Europe with some of the best clubs in the world.
After featuring for giants like Ajax, Liverpool, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, the player is finally set to move back to South America in the final stage of his career.

"First of all, I wanted to thank you for the love that both I and my family have received in recent days, which has been impressive, all the messages that have reached us. That touched our hearts in this situation that we had to decide and well, it was inevitable to accept this opportunity to have the possibility of playing again in Nacional and we have a pre-agreement with the club", Luis Suarez said in a video message.
"In the next few hours, details will be finalized and we hope that the agreement that we all want will be reached and that we can all enjoy this new stage and see each other in the coming days," he added.
The Uruguayan played 35 games in his first spell with them, scoring 12 goals during his time there. And now, as a veteran, he will be featuring for them once again.
