Kasper Schmeichel could be on his way out of Leicester City this summer. The Dane has only one year remaining on his current deal with the Foxes. And he could be sold to a foreign club if a deal is agreed.
So far, Nice have registered their interest in the player. They are in search of a new number one this summer, and have been re-evaluating their options after a move for Borussia Monchengladbach failed earlier.
Kasper Schmeichel agreed terms for Nice move
Following Walter Benitez's move to PSV, Kasper Schmeichel is most likely to replace him. L'Equipe have suggested that personal terms are already agreed between the player and the French club.
The 35-year-old has been with Leicester City since 2011, and has won the Premier League title and FA Cup with them. Over the years, he has been able to establish himself as one of the top keepers in the English top flight.
As a result, even if he were to leave the club, he would be regarded as a club legend due to his contributions to the success of the Foxes. However, Leicester will need to find a replacement for their captain if he was to move away.
If Schmeichel is unable to seal a move away and doesn't agree new terms with Leicester, he will be walking out of the club for free next summer.
