Diego Costa is in talks with La Liga side Rayo Vallecano over a potential move. The striker is currently a free agent after leaving Atletico Mineiro, capping off a six-month spell with them.
And he could be returning to Spain if he accepts the proposal that the club has offered him. However, he has been in contact with Manchester United over a potential return to the Premier League as well.
Diego Costa offered proposal by Rayo Vallecano
The forward spent an impressive few years at Chelsea before falling out with Antonio Conte, who was the manager at the time. He scored 58 goals and provided 24 assists for the Blues in 120 appearances before moving on to Atletico Madrid.
Diego Costa last played in Spain in 2020 for the Rojiblancos, before his contract was terminated. He has spent time with Rayo Vallecano in the past, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 16 appearances during a loan spell.
As a result, a spell at 33 years old could be on the cards if an agreement is reached. But, Manchester United are set to host Rayo Vallecano in a friendly very soon. And he could be playing on either side given that both clubs are interested in signing him. However, neither club has reached an agreement over a contract as of yet.
