Aaron Ramsey has been urged to join Newcastle or Nottingham Forest after leaving Juventus.
The Wales midfielder saw his £400,000-a-week contract ripped up by the Serie A giants despite having a year left to run.
Ramsey's two-and-a-half-year stay in Italy has come to an end
After leaving Arsenal in 2019 with a big reputation, Ramsey's career has stalled following three quiet years in Turin, which included a disappointing loan spell at Rangers during the second-half of last season.
It is understood Ramsey received a £2.5million severance payment from Juve - but the 31-year-old is technically now unemployed and searching for a new club.
With a World Cup for Wales on the horizon, Dragons legend Dean Saunders believes Ramsey still has plenty to offer and tips a move to the Magpies or the Reds.
"I'd like to see him at Newcastle," Saunders told talkSPORT. "I think that's the train you want to jump on.
"Or Forest. Steve Cooper is Welsh. He'll know Aaron.
"In the Euros, when Wales played Turkey, Bale and Ramsey played together - and Ramsey was magnificent.
Ramsey missed the decisive penalty for Rangers in the 2022 Europa League final
"He's had a few injuries. He broke his leg [against] Birmingham and it affected him for a long time.
"He's got a great football brain. He covers more ground than any player on the pitch. Good finisher, great lad."
Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Ray Parlour believes a move to Major League Soccer in America could suit Ramsey.
Parlour told talkSPORT: "He will be disappointed - three seasons, 49 appearances.
Ramsey will be a key player for Wales at the 2022 Qatar World Cup this winter
"He was frozen out, but let's hope he can get into the Premier League. Forest are the favourites.
"I would always look at America. If you think you're coming to the end of your career, it's a slower pace.
"It's a nice place to live and he's got three young children."
