Jurgen Klopp is open to signing a new contract at Liverpool, with talks underway to extend his stay with the Premier League giants - much to the delight of club legend Jamie Carragher.
There have been suggestions the beloved coach could walk away from Anfield at the end of his current deal should the Reds secure a historic quadruple - but talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan insists it's far too soon to bring the Klopp era to an end.
Klopp's Liverpool are on track to make history and the boss could be set to extend his contract with the club
Reports from the Daily Telegraph claim Liverpool are looking to accelerate talks to extend Klopp's contract, after he has indicated he would be open to remaining at Anfield beyond his current deal, which expires in 2024.
Reds chiefs are said to be keen to secure the German's future for a further four years 'at least', with Klopp previously insisting he would only accept a new deal if he intends to honour it in full.
And that was music to Carragher's ears on Thursday morning, although it appears he isn't getting ahead of himself, as he poked fun at Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl with a GIF he posted on social media.
Klopp has often been unwilling to commit his long-term future to the Merseysiders when asked, insisting he would only commit if he was sure sure he has the energy and motivation to keep going.
He doesn't appear to lack motivation at the moment, though, with Liverpool taking another step towards a gargantuan quadruple achievement on Wednesday night as they beat Villarreal in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.
The Reds are now just eight games away from potentially winning four trophies this season, leading talkSPORT host Jim White to ponder, 'what more can Klopp achieve' at the club if he agrees a long-term stay.
Klopp is loved by his Liverpool players and fans, becoming an iconic figure for the city since his arrival as manager
But Jordan has questioned why on earth the coach would decide to leave a club where everything is set up for him to keep building Liverpool into an 'irresistible force'.
And, on the question of what Klopp does next if he does pick up all four trophies this season, the White and Jordan host said: "You do more of the same. You keep building, you keep on improving, you keep on evolving - nothing stays the same forever.
"This Liverpool side is a really, really good side. If there is one slip up from Man City, if they open the door by losing or drawing a game, this Liverpool team will do the quadruple.
"They are feral in their approach to the game, in terms of they don't stop at anything.
"They are probably at this moment in time in their richest vein of form, the group of players they've got are irrepressible and they are an irresistible force.
"The only problem for an irresistible force is when you come up against an immovable object, and that may be Man City winning every single game.
Liverpool have kept the quadruple dream alive with a win over Villarreal in the Champions League
"But I'm telling you now, if City drop a point, Liverpool can do this quadruple and will break the mould for football.
"What's after that for Jurgen Klopp? He'd be at the pinnacle, so will he wind down?
"Well, why? There is the argument of quitting while you're ahead, but that's the same as quitting. The bottom line is why? He's 54 years old, he's a football manager, this is what he does.
"If he's saying to the world, 'I'm not going to manage any more football teams', that's one thing. But he'll be there nine years at the end of his contract, which is almost unheard of in Premier League terms now.
"Here he is now, he's got the absolute backing of the world looking at him, from the fans in the terraces, to the media, to the players. Everybody is looking at this guy going, 'you're a phenomenon of a football manager' and why would you want to change that?
Klopp has already secured the Carabao Cup for Liverpool this season - could there be more?
"These are moments in time. You're a long time retired - I'm not suggesting he's going to retire if he leaves Liverpool, but why would you leave that environment where everything is where you need it to be?
"Sir Alex Ferguson didn't retire after he won the treble with Manchester United!
"Klopp is a very strong, motivated man and an incredible leader. I don't always agree with what he says but I do agree with his outcomes.
"This Liverpool team is alongside Man City as two of the greatest sides we've seen in the 30 years of the Premier League, without doubt.
Guardiola and Klopp though are two of the best managers in the world
"The job takes a lot out of you, but it's failure that does that. It doesn't take a lot out of you when you're winning and you're being supported and being inspired and you're an inspirational character and everybody around you wants you to be successful.
"It takes something out of you if you're a little bit narcissistic and self-involved, but he'd not.
"I do think he's changing to be a little bit full of himself, but so he should be - they're winning everything right now!
"So if Liverpool win the quadruple, what will Klopp do? I just think you keep on winning.
"Winners win, that's what they do."
