Saliman, 55,  who was the sole finalist for the job, has served as interim president since July. The board voted unanimously to offer him the position full time, according to a news release. "(Saliman) is a trusted leader who is respected across the institution and state," said the Board of Regents in a statement announcing the hire. "He has a deep love for the university and for Colorado." Saliman replaces former president Mark Kennedy, who came to CU from the University of North Dakota and who resigned last year after two years leading the system. Kennedy, who received a $1.3 million settlement from CU, was censured by faculty for "failure to lead" when it came to diversity, equity and inclusion.
