Early to mid 2000s was peak entertainment when it came to the CW. It was producing shows like One Tree Hill, Dawson's Creek, and Gilmore Girls. Not to mention the start of some iconic shows such as Gossip Girl in 2007 and Supernatural in 2005. These shows produced during the early 2000s are still extremely popular and relevant in 2022.
In my personal opinion, One Tree Hill is the best CW show created. It aired from 2003-2012, the first 3 years being on The WB, then 2006-2012 was on The CW. The show was about the rivalry of two half-brothers; Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) and Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) and their drama that is on and off the basketball court in their small town of Tree Hill, North Carolina. Obviously, there is lots of drama and lots of hot couples. It had such a big impact and is still loved to this day that three of the main actresses from the show created a podcast where they talk about the show. Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Bethany Joy Lenz created the podcast Drama Queens. They rewatch the episodes and talk about it, what was happening behind the scenes, and their experiences.
I feel like these shows set the tone of what television was going to be like. It demonstrated how dramas can be different, but entertaining all at the same time. I just think it was better then as to how it is now.
