Arsenal are chasing two strikers this summer, including Man City's Gabriel Jesus - and Ray Parlour thinks the club should look at Brentford's Ivan Toney.
Having already let Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang go, the Gunners are expected to lose Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah when their contracts expire this summer, leaving manager Mikel Arteta without a senior striker.
Jesus could be on the way out of Man City
Arsenal are set to have a big gap in their squad if Lacazette and Nketiah leave
As a result, Arsenal targeting two new forwards when the transfer window opens, according to the Athletic.
It is understood technical director Edu and boss Arteta are interested in a versatile player who can operate both wide and through the middle - with Jesus emerging as their No. 1 target.
Starts have been rare for the Brazil star under Pep Guardiola this season - despite the lack of an out-and-out centre-forward - and with Erling Haaland expected to sign for City this summer, Jesus could soon become available.
The 25-year-old proved his worth with four goals in the 5-1 victory over Newcastle on Saturday.
Bayer Leverkusen star Patrik Schick and Napoli man Victor Osimhen have also been linked with the second vacant spot up front in the Gunners' squad - but Arsenal legend Parlour has other ideas.
The former midfielder believes the club should look at Brentford star Toney, who is level on goals with Tottenham's Harry Kane in the Premier League this season.
Ivan Toney scored 31 goals in the Championship last season and has 12 in the Premier League this term
"The strikers they'll be looking at, they'll also be looking at the other clubs interested in those strikers," Parlour told Drive on talkSPORT.
"You don't want to be getting into bidding wars. How many clubs will be after Toney, if he's available?
"That's the sort of striker I would be trying to get at Arsenal."
