Developer 343 Industries revealed to Halo players that they will be ending online services for Xbox 360 devices on January 13th, 2022. The date had originally been set for December but was pushed back in late October.
"To date, we've juggled future-facing work and priorities with continued upkeep of Halo's Xbox 360 legacy services. Maintaining these legacy services today requires significant time and resources which directly impacts the studio's ability to support current and future projects like Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo Infinite," wrote 343 Industries in a statement.
All Halo games will be impacted. This will include Halo: Reach, Halo 4, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: Spartan Assault, and Halo Wars.
Even though online services will be gone after January 13th, Halo fans can still have LAN parties with games like Halo 3, Halo 4, and Halo Reach. They can also play online co-op together with squads.
