Thomas Tuchel has called on Chelsea's out-of-favour attackers to seize their chance after Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner hobbled off in the 4-0 victory over Malmo.

The Blues breezed to a dominant victory but it was a bittersweet Champions League victory as his two number nines were forced off before half-time.

Havertz and others must seize their opportunity to impress, Tuchel has claimed

Lukaku was forced off in the first half of the Malmo clash

Goals from Andreas Christensen, Jorginho (twice) and substitute Kai Havertz sealed the tie.

Tuchel believes the German - as well as the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech - have now been handed a timely opportunity to prove themselves.

"Guys who waited for their chance need to step up and prove what they can do," Tuchel told BT Sport.

"The race is on and the guys who will start against Norwich in the next game have our trust and we will have our solutions.

Werner also limped off with a hamstring injury

"Let's stay positive. We won games before without Timo, we won games before without Romelu. These things happen."

Lukaku suffered an ankle injury while winning Chelsea's first penalty and Werner was also forced off in the first half.

Tuchel added: "I can tell you what you saw. We have a twist of the ankle with Romelu and a muscle injury, hamstring with Timo, so they will be some days out.

"Normally we are in a good place injury wise. We only had Christian Pulisic out but we miss everyone. We have a lot of games to play and competitions. Now we have to find solutions. No excuses."

On the victory, the Blues manager said: "We wanted three points. We wanted them deserved. And we got both."
