Peetz football needed a win to get back on track this season. The Bulldogs did that and more on Friday night against Weldon Valley.

In what can only be described as pure domination, the Bulldogs outscored the Warriors by 50 in the 74-24 final. They split their offense between passing and rushing and found success at nearly every turn.

Sophomore quarterback Chance Segelke led the passing game with 68 yards and four touchdowns before he got to sit for the rest of the game. Junior Colton Howell and sophomore Aiden Hill got some reps in after that, throwing for 28 and 27 yards, respectively. Hill also added his own touchdown. Sophomore Noah Naegele scored three of those receiving TDs as Hill and junior Grady White each scored one of their own. Howell and sophomore Wyatt Talhelm led the run game with 81 yards and 41 yards as each ran in two more scores apiece.

The Bulldogs, now 3-4, will have a good chance to hit .500 when they head to 1-4 Flagler on Friday at 7 p.m.

Caliche football struggles against top-10 opponent

Caliche football's schedule certainly hasn't been easy this year, and Friday's matchup against 8-man's fourth-ranked Dayspring Christian Academy proved that point once again.

The Buffaloes couldn't match the offensive production of an Eagles team that ran up the score in each of the first three quarters. The Eagles outscored the Buffaloes 16-0 in the first quarter, only to see each team put up eight points in the next.

Then Dayspring Christian Academy blew the third quarter open with 24 points to Caliche's zero, making it all but impossible for the Buffaloes to be able to bounce back. Now down 48-8, the Buffaloes managed to put up one last score of six points in the fourth quarter to bring the final score to 48-14.

The Buffaloes, now 2-4, will face a tough Merino team on Thursday at 7 p.m.
