Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder rightly received all the plaudits after their magnificent 11-round fight last weekend.

However, former world heavyweight champion George Foreman has offered up his praise to someone else - referee Russell Mora.

Mora is one of the most experienced boxing officials

Mora, who was the man in the middle of the title fight in Las Vegas, has perhaps gone under the radar for the way he officiated the historic contest.

But Foreman ensured that he gave the referee the recognition he deserved, thanking him for his role in the bout.

Foreman tweeted: "'Russell Mora'. His weight was not listed; But the referee in the Fury/ Wilder fight, Saturday night was the true 'giant' of the night; non-bias from start to finish; accurate on the stoppage.

"Thanks from boxing."

Foreman also gave his thoughts on the fight itself, which saw Fury retain his WBC Heavyweight title.

The 'Gypsy King' was floored twice during the bout but, in the end, he secured the knockout in round 11 in Las Vegas

And Foreman, who is a two-time world heavyweight champion and an Olympic gold medalist, claims that the fight was 'the best title fight ever.'

He tweeted: "Foreman, Frazier even Tyson: forget about us all; It's a new day and it's all about Tyson Fury and Wilder. They put on the best (heavyweight) title [fight] ever."

'It's all about Fury and Wilder', says Foreman

This is an opinion that has been shared by the majority of the boxing community, including promoter Frank Warren, who told talkSPORT that it was the best heavyweight fight he'd ever seen

"It was historic, wasn't it? I've got to be honest, that's the best live heavyweight fight I've ever seen," Warren told the Weekend Sports Breakfast.

"It was just amazing. Both of them showed such courage, they're true warriors and it takes two guys to make a fight like that and you have to take your hat off to both of them."
