Rangers have been warned not to expect much of an impact from incoming signing Aaron Ramsey, despite claims the former Arsenal midfielder is the club's biggest signing since Paul Gascoigne.
Ramsey has joined Rangers until the end of the season
Ramsey moved to Turin on a free transfer in 2019 after spending nine years with Arsenal in the Premier League, yet failed to kick-start his career in Italy.
The 31-year-old has played just 112 minutes of football for Juve this season and a move to Scotland could well be what he needs for his career.
Even though Rangers will cover a small part of his reported £400,000-a-week salary, former West Ham striker Dean Ashton urged caution about the move.
That's despite Rangers legend Ally McCoist comparing the midfielder's move to ex-teammate Gazza's arrival in 1995.
"It's clearly fantastic business from Rangers, to be able to pull this off," Ashton told talkSPORT's Drive.
"Albeit I don't think he won't make a dot of difference because he barely plays, he can't stay fit, I would question his character because he is always able to find himself to be fit and playing for Wales.
Ramsey's two-and-a-half-year stay in Italy has come to an end
"Every time I watch him for Wales, I am like 'wow – he is still absolutely the player who could be in the Premier League or anywhere over Europe.'
"Then I see when he does come on for Juve and I'm like, 'That's not the same player; why can't you stay fit?'
"Is it because Wales allow him to maybe be at 80%, maybe miss training and they manage him well? Is it just his mentality, what is it?
"That has to be put into question; which Aaron Ramsey is turning up for Rangers?"
The former Wales captain could well make his debut on Wednesday in the Old Firm clash against bitter Glasgow rivals Celtic at Parkhead.
And Ibrox great McCoist has no doubt about the boost Ramsey will bring to the Rangers team as they aim to defend their Scottish Premiership title.

"I'm absolutely ecstatic at the news Aaron Ramsey has signed for Rangers," he told talkSPORT.

In the first season, we have seen Georgia is leaving Texas to relocate to a smaller town for a new beginning after the death of her husband. The series is a mixture of crime, race, and self-harm like it was also filled with some content like marriage, friendships, and definitely family dramas.

In the second season we have to wait to see, she will reconcile with her friendship group, or things will once again become messier. Ginny has cheated on her boyfriend Hunter and now she may try to explore things with her bad-boy neighbor Marcus.

Housing, the climate and environment, the economy, young people, connected communities, addressing deprivation and continuing to provide a well-run, high performing Council are all themes to be included in the Council's Corporate Plan 2022-2027.
The Corporate Plan sets the focus for the Council's ambitions for the next five years including the vital core services it provides for residents such as education and social care.
The Council is launching an online survey to find out what members of the public think.
Councillor Julian Thompson-Hill, the Council's Lead Member for Finance, Performance and Strategic Assets, said: "This is a chance to tell us what you think about our direction for the next five years.
"Asking the views of our residents helps inform our decision making and allows you to tell us what our focus should be.
"I would encourage as many people as possible to take this chance to help improve services and your local area."
