Day one of REV Major 2023 is done and the top 8 matches for the main tournament games on day two have been decided.
For those who weren't able to follow the event, here are the top 8 matches for each of tomorrow's games. (Read: REV Major 2022 reminded me of why I love fighting games and the fighting game community)
Tekken 7
Despite being arguably the country's favorite game, host the Philippines didn't fare so well in Tekken 7, with no Filipino players making the top 8. Instead, the top 8 bracket is filled with visiting Korean and Japanese players. That said, even without any local favorites to cheer for, the lineup still promises some hot Tekken 7 action.

Street Fighter 6
Despite not being tied to any professional tour, the Street Fighter 6 tournament at REV Major 2023 still saw its fair share of foreign players. That said, that didn't stop local talent from shining through. Four local players made it through to top 8, including John "Junky284" Escolano, the only local player remaining in the winner's side of the bracket. That's on top of Fil-Am phenom Ryan "FChampRyan" Ramirez who also made it through.

Guilty Gear Strive
As an Arc World Tour 2023 qualifier event, REV Major's Guilty Gear Strive tournament attracted its fair share of top players from abroad. In the end, only two Filipino players remained—Psychrosis and NTR|Chaineru.

The Philippines had a good showing at REV Major's DragonBall FighterZ World Tour 2023-2024 POWER tournament with local players making it through in both the winners and losers side of the bracket.

The King of Fighters XV
REV Major 2023 is hosting an SNK World Championship Global Qualifier for the King of Fighters XV. As such, many players from abroad came to the event to challenge the best the local scene had to offer.

Mortal Kombat 1
Mortal Kombat 1 completed its tournament on Day 1. Despite being barely a few weeks old, a few foreign players still made the trip to challenge the locals for the fate of the realms.
