COTABATO CITY -- The seven newly appointed members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority's (BTA) reported their achievements and progress one year after they took oath in MalacaƱang Palace. Families, friends, esteemed colleagues in the Parliament, CSOs, and media were there.
MP Atty. Elijah Dumama-Alba, MP Atty. Mary Ann M. Arnado, MP Baileng Mantawil, MP Tawakal Midtimbang, MP Mosber Alauddin, MP MP Suharto Esmael, and MP Matarul Estino, looked back at their achievements for the past year and the remaining targets of their terms.

They reported their approved resolutions, laws, bills filed in the BTA, and the social services delivered to the Bangsamoro citizenry through the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF). Their progress and accomplishments exemplified their cooperation and partnerships with various BARMM government ministries that made their programs fruitful and beneficial to the people.
MP Lanang T. Ali graced the occasion where he commended the newly elected parliament members on their achievements and urged them to pass legislative measures that bring progress and development in the region.
To have such exemplary accomplishments in a year attest to the BTA MP's dedication to pursuing intensive efforts following the strategies and leadership of Chief Minister Ahod Balawag "Al-Hajj Murad" Ebrahim and directed by the Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP).
"Walang kapagurang pagtatrabaho (Working untiringly)," said Dumama-Alba, as she wrapped up the forum by encouraging her fellow MPs to move forward with renewed vigor in serving the Bangsamoro people.
The Bangsamoro region, established in 2018 by the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) to implement the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), is made up of the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi, as well as the Special Geographic Area's (SGA) 63 barangays or villages that voted "Yes" in a plebiscite in February 2019 to be under the BARMM jurisdiction.
According to the Philippine Atlas BARMM has 4,404,288 people. It has 116 municipalities: Basilan, 11 municipalities; Lanao del Sur, 39; undivided Maguindanao, 36; Sulu, 19; and Tawi-Tawi, 11. Its component cities are Cotabato (the regional center and capital) in Maguindanao; Lamitan in Basilan; and Marawi in Lanao del Sur. (✓)
