An active investigation into an armed robbery began Thursday near Weld County roads 92 and 43, according to a sheriff's office Facebook post. The armed suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his mid-30s or 40s with a shaved head, wearing a t-shirt, jeans and cowboy boots, took off southbound on Weld 43 in a muddy, white Ford F350, four-door cab truck. At 10:20 a.m., deputies identified the suspect truck in the area of Weld 74 and U.S. 85, the post said. The sheriff's office issued a reverse 911 for the area, alerting the public that the man was last known to be armed with a shotgun and a pistol. The sheriff's office later announced the scene was safe and the suspect was in custody, according to the updated Facebook post. The investigation remains active at this time.
