A male suspect is in custody as a result of an armed robbery investigation conducted by the Weld County Sheriff's Office on Thursday morning.
An active investigation into an armed robbery began Thursday near Weld County roads 92 and 43, according to a sheriff's office Facebook post.
The armed suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his mid-30s or 40s with a shaved head, wearing a t-shirt, jeans and cowboy boots, took off southbound on Weld 43 in a muddy, white Ford F350, four-door cab truck.
At 10:20 a.m., deputies identified the suspect truck in the area of Weld 74 and U.S. 85, the post said. The sheriff's office issued a reverse 911 for the area, alerting the public that the man was last known to be armed with a shotgun and a pistol.
The sheriff's office later announced the scene was safe and the suspect was in custody, according to the updated Facebook post.
The investigation remains active at this time. The sheriff's office asks anyone with information related to this case to contact (970) 350-9600.
