A successful nature day for all ages was held recently at Nantclwyd y Dre Ruthin.
Nantclwyd y Dre Nature Day held on July 30, was run as part of Wales Nature Week. Held in the historic gardens of the house, the day was aimed to help the public meet some of the conservation organisations that look after nature across North Wales.
Hosted by Denbighshire Countryside Service, Denbighshire Heritage Service, Bionet and The Team at Nantclwyd y Dre, the event saw 310 visitors enjoy learning about the work to protect nature in the region.
People of all ages enjoyed a range of activities and talks during the day and found out as well how with the organisations present, they could give their own support to help local nature.
Kate Thomson, manager of Nantclwyd y Dre Historic House and Gardens said: "It was wonderful to welcome so many people, of all ages, who were truly engaged with the conservations organisations and interested in how they can contribute to helping preserve our natural world. A very big thank you to all those who helped make it such a successful event."
Cllr Barry Mellor, Lead Member for Environment and Transport and Council Biodiversity Champion, added: "I would like to thank these wonderful organisations who gave their time to help our local communities learn and understand about the work going on in the county and beyond to protect our nature, which is even more so important due to the impact of climate change we all face."
