Kia Concept EV9 took a big fat gong at The 2022 GOOD DESIGN Award, and is now at a Circular quay installation for Sydney's stunning Vivid Light festival.
Kia Concept EV9 was parachuted in from the April Shanghai International Auto Show to be installed on its very own, and rather delicious, Light show display. Even if the marketing jargon grates your gears, the EV9 Concept certainly won't.
The concept car inspired Kia's new EV9 electric SUV, so the Concept EV9's spectacular stand empathises the best and most innovative features. Wide opening doors reveal a cabin whose seats looked to have been beamed in from the bridge the Enterprise G. Only true geeks will understand.
Kia makes outrageous claims about the Concept EV9 inspiration. For example, designers say it is inspired by nature with its butterfly doors and star map exterior lighting. There are other really cool things, like its portable speakers, angular exterior, and an interior that designers nicked from a Sci-Fi movie set.
As often happens with concept cars, the production models lose some of the nattiest features, and such is the case with EV9. Gone are the rear EV9 Concept's hinged doors, replaced by a less controversial set-up for the car punters Can buy.
Kia Australia's General Manager of Marketing, Dean Norbiato, "As the world's largest festival of light, music and ideas, Vivid Sydney attracts a huge influx of domestic and international visitors to the city.
We feel honoured to showcase the Kia Concept EV9 for the first time in Australia. As a brand, we continue to evolve our experiential offerings to ensure we're always representing Kia in a fresh and innovative light".
