Tempers flared in El Clasico when an unstoppable Frenkie de Jong was grabbed by the neck and wrestled to the ground by Vinicius Jr.
Real Madrid are hosting fierce rivals Barcelona in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final, both looking to assert their dominance with Barca mastering LaLiga, but Real firing in the Champions League.
De Jong and Vinicius have both starred this season for different reasons, but when it comes mazy dribbles, the Brazilian would normally be the culprit.
However, in the first half of the derby, it was the Dutch midfielder who couldn't be stopped, hurdling a challenge from the ageless Luka Modric before breezing past a helpless Toni Kross.
Unhappy with what he was seeing, Vinicius then got involved, getting an arm and leg ahead of De Jong.
The long-time Manchester United target grappled his way back round though, with Vinicius then grabbing him round the neck, causing De Jong to lose balance and falling back like Neo in the Matrix.
A headlock then resulted with the two finally landing on the ground, with a yellow produced for the Madrid winger.
He was far from happy, though, fuming at referee Jose Munuera for what looked like a straightforward decision.
An Eder Militao own goal sees Barca lead the tie with the second leg at the Camp Nou takes place on April 5. The winner will face either Osasuna or Athletic Bilbao in the final.
Barca look close to having one trophy already in the bag, with their league lead over Madrid at seven points.
The story is very different in Europe, though, with Barca dropping down to the Europea League before being knocked out at the first hurdle by Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Real trounced Liverpool 5-2 in the first leg of the last 16 of the top tier competition.
