Fury is the WBC heavyweight world champion
Initially, the idea was for the fight to take place in Saudi Arabia with both men receiving inflated purses from an exorbitant site fee.
However, it's been confirmed that this is no longer an option on the table.
As such, the parties are attempting to put together a new deal based on a percentage split that will see them both earn significantly less than they would have done in the Middle East.
While negotiations remain ongoing, it appears this is proving difficult.
According to the Star, talks are now 'at an impasse' with time running out to reach a deal.
It's claimed that there is still hope a breakthrough could be made, with news expected by the end of this week.
Usyk is the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion
Usyk's promoter Alex Krassyuk has spoken of their desire for an even 50/50 purse split, while Fury's US co-promoter Bob Arum responded by telling Krassyuk to 'shut up' and keep all negotiations behind closed doors.
Tyson's father John Fury then spoke out and is seemingly less than pleased with the situation.
Fury Sr told iD Boxing: "Treat Tyson as the great champion he is. Stop trying to be the A-side. Usyk is not Tyson's equal.
"Fall in line and you'll get the fight done.
Wembley is now the target venue for Fury vs Usyk on April 29
"Do not respect Tyson and you won't get the fight, simple as that.
"Tyson's the A-side and Usyk is not worthy of 50-50, he couldn't sell the O2 Arena out.
"So fall in line and you might get the fight."
