Tom Aspinall is done talking about Conor McGregor after the former dual-weight UFC champion threatened to 'kill' him.
McGregor hasn't fought since suffering a grim leg injury at UFC 264 in 2021 but he's now fully fit and booked to face Michael Chandler in a comeback fight later this year.
During a recent interview, Aspinall revealed he personally is not that interested in watching the fight because he is 'over' McGregor who has dominated the UFC for the past decade.
'Notorious' got wind of the UFC heavyweight's comments and took to social media to threaten him, he wrote: "Mush head rat keep your comments to yourself.
"Bum p****. Say sayonara to that [Gym King] deal kid. Starve you and kill you I will you f****** disrespectful p****. Don't ever speak my name in disrespect again. Mush potato head."
Aspinall initially poked fun at the situation by uploading a picture of his phone that showed his name crossed out and replaced by 'Mush head rat' but now he's refusing to speak about McGregor.
"Conor (McGregor) told me not to speak about him anymore so I'm going to respect that," he said in a Sky Sports interview on Tuesday.
"I don't want… He's a scary guy. He made threats so I'm gonna back off. I ain't gonna talk about him no more if that's the case."
The 29-year-old admits he was taken back by McGregor's angry comments as he didn't feel like he'd said anything disrespectful about the Irish superstar.
Aspinall added: "I didn't disrespect him in any way. I would never disrespect him or anybody. You've met me as a person plenty of times and I'm not that kind of character.
"I wouldn't disrespect anyone, especially someone like him who's a massive pioneer of the sport. All I said was I'm more interested in other fights.
"There's a freaking heavyweight title fight coming up this weekend, in my division. Of course, I'm going to be more invested in that. But who knows? Like I said, his name is staying way out of my mouth right now. I don't want none of that."
Aspinall has been out injured since suffering a leg injury of his own during his main event match-up with Curtis Blaydes at UFC London in July 2022.
The top contender is now fully fit again and looking for a fight but has not been added to the upcoming UFC 286 pay-per-view show at London's O2 Arena.
