The Big Sky's announced it will hold its annual football kickoff and Hall of Fame event in July.
The events will take place in Spokane, Washington. The league has held the weekend in Spokane for five straight years, excluding the times it went completely virtual due to COVID-19. It provides an opportunity to honor Big Sky contributors and help usher in the fall season.
Representatives from the attending universities have the chance to connect with local children through its youth clinic, while assistants who hope to become head coaches can attend the educational seminars.
Fans can watch coverage of media day on July 24, which will feature more than four hours of interviews with coaches and players of the various league teams. This will be UNC coach Ed Lamb's first Big Sky media day.
Commissioner Tom Wistricill will be available to speak on the state of the conference, as well.
All interviews will be available on ESPN+, starting at 10 a.m.
The Hall of Fame dinner and induction is set for 7:30 p.m. on July 22. Fourteen new members will be honored at the league's second induction.
Tickets are $80 per person, which includes a meal. No Northern Colorado coaches or athletes, however, were selected for this year's class.
"It's our honor to recognize this amazing group for induction as our second Big Sky Hall of Fame Class," Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. "These 14 individuals elevated the Big Sky into what it is today and made a lasting impact on their sport, school and community that will be felt today and for years to come. We're excited to celebrate their legacies in front of a large audience later this summer as part of the Big Sky Football Kickoff Weekend in Spokane."
Additional details about media day, the youth clinic and assistant coaches programming will be released closer to the weekend.
