COTABATO CITY (SDN)-- True to its mandate and mission of implementing reform to attain quality education, the Bangsamoro government has delivered a total of 320 armchairs to four schools in the Bangsamoro region.
The armchairs were designed according to specifications and design provided by the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) under the leadership of Education Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal.
Recipient schools in Maguindanao II and Lanao del Sur (LDS) II each received 80 armchairs, a long-sought educational tools in many schools in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The schools which received 80 pieces of armchairs each are the following:
1. Makalian Elementary School (Maguindanao II)
2. Molimoc Elementary School (LDS II)
3. Tataya Elementary School (LDS II)
4. Magulalong Oriental Elementary School(LDS II)
Iqbal has earlier assured putting in place reform in the region's educational system, including providing new school buildings/classrooms; technological equipment like laptops, tablets, and other devices; armchairs; hiring of new teachers, among others.
Meanwhile, the MBHTE congratulated the winners of the recently concluded 1st BARMM Hymn Solo Singing Competition.
According to the ministry, the winners are:

2nd Runner Up: 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧 (Lamitan City Division)
𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐃 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲
Champion: 𝐉𝐢𝐦𝐤𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐢 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐛 (Sulu PTC)
1st Runner Up: 𝐍𝐚𝐝𝐳𝐰𝐚 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐬 (Basilan PTC)
2nd Runner Up: 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧 (RMDC)

1st Runner Up: 𝐀𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐫 (REMACADEMY)
The competition was held on February 28 at the Cotabato State University Gymnasium.
Winners in each category received cash prizes, such as Grand Prize (Php50,000); Second Prize (Php30,000); Third Prize (Php20,000); and Consolation Prize (Php5,000).
Contestants were judged based on vocal -- 50 percent, expression, 30 percent, and showmanship, 20 percent. Every contestant was given the same piece.
All the MBHTE 11 schools division offices (SDOs), seven Ministry-supervised higher education institutions (HEIs), and five technical education and skills development provincial training centers (PTCs) were required to enter one official participant each. -- EDD K. USMAN/with report from MBHTE (/)
