Jamie O'Hara has backed Tottenham to move for England duo Jordan Pickford and Harry Maguire to boost their flailing top four hopes under Antonio Conte.
After the New Year's Day defeat at home to Aston Villa in the Premier League, the north London club have won only four times in all competitions since October 19.
Hugo Lloris' mistake helped Villa take the lead and the Tottenham goalkeeper has come in for criticism
Villa's first goal in their 2-0 win came from a mistake by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who is now in his 11th season at the club.
The Frenchman is now 36 years old and after Graeme Souness declared the World Cup winner is 'past his sell-by date', 0'Hara believes that Everton and England goalkeeper Pickford should be targeted as his replacement.
Speaking on the talkSPORT Sports Breakfast, the former Spurs midfielder said: "We need a replacement for Lloris.
"He's been a great servant to the football club but he does make too many mistakes. I think eventually we are going to have to replace him.
"Jordan Pickford, absolutely. Give me Pickford now."
talkSPORT's Jamie O'Hara would like to see Jordan Pickford replace Lloris
Spurs have conceded seven goals in their last three games in the Premier League, with defensive frailties clear to see.
Manchester United's Maguire has been cast as a potential signing for the backline by O'Hara, who added: "Harry Maguire is better than what we've got.
"He's not playing at Manchester United. If a left-back is playing at centre-half and you're not featuring, then Maguire has got to be looking at saying 'I want out.'
"[Lisandro] Martinez is going to come back from the World Cup with Argentina, so Harry Maguire is going to go even further down the pecking order.
"Maguire has got to look to get out of there. I would have him at Tottenham, absolutely, definitely."
Maguire has also been named as a potential signing for Conte's side
An away trip to Crystal Palace is up next for Spurs, who could slowly find themselves slipping away from the top four if their form does not improve.
Conte has suggested his squad is not strong enough to fight on multiple fronts, and would clearly welcome new arrivals.
Speaking after the defeat to Villa, the Spurs boss said: "Last season we made a miracle, I continue to repeat.
"It happened why? Because we played only one competition, we played with 12 to 13 players and they didn't have injuries in the last 15 games and we played with the best players every game because, I repeat, we played only the league.
"The situation is clear and I think you can see our situation from the start of the season.
"We had Bryan Gil, who played a good game but he's a young player and you need to give young players time to become stronger physically. I'm pleased from what I've seen from him in the game.
"Then there is (Harry) Kane, Son, Richarlison and Kulusevski. When it happened that two of these (are injured), and this season it happened a few times with Richarlison and Kulusevski, you are in trouble.
"Also Sonny has to continue to improve and it becomes difficult this situation, because if you ask me about the central defenders, they played a good game, the two midfielders played a good game, the wing-backs played a good game and then we struggled a bit up front because we found a team defending really deep.
"If you have a solution on the bench to change the game, it's easier because you change the cards during the game."
