Well dear readers, here we are again at the end of one year and balancing on the precipice of a new one. I hope that you take some time to look back at all the events and activities you did in 2022 and look to participating in some new things in 2023.

There are lots of opportunities in northern Colorado to raise a glass with friends to round out the last day of the year as well as fun events like the action of arenacross in Loveland, an informative art walk in Fort Collins and educational online programs to welcome in the first week of 2023.

Take a peek at these 22 events set for the week of Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022 through Friday, Jan. 6, 2023.

Saturday, Dec. 31

1. End the year off on a positive note by attending Live Music Vin Yin Yoga at 11:30 a.m. at Balanced Movement Yoga, 802 9th St., Suite 102, Greeley. Heather will be leading the group through the practice while Bret strums an acoustic guitar. All proceeds will go toward the center's Sobriety Scholarship Fund. 2. Celebrate New Year's Eve with little ones by taking a trip up north for New Year's at Noon beginning at 10 a.m. at the Laramie County Library, 2200 Pioneer Ave., Cheyenne. The event, open to families with children of all ages, will feature crafts, snacks, games and a balloon drop. The even is free and registration is not required. 3. If you haven't strolled through the Winter Wonderlights display, this is a great way to spend New Year's Eve with the family and friends. The display kicks into gear at 5 p.m. at Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra at Sky Pond Drive in Loveland. The free event features thousands of twinkling colored lights in a variety of festive displays. All ages are welcome to attend. For more information, go to https://bit.ly/3WrkJhh.

4. The 20th annual Crystal Ball is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Stanley Hotel, 333 Wonderview Ave., Estes Park. The formal affair will include dinner, drinks, live entertainment and more for adults age 21 and older. Tickets for the dinner and party are $215 a person and $100 per person for just the party. 5. The Moxi Theater is hosting NYE 2023: In The Whale with Underseer, Jellyfish Farm and Defeats the Porpoise at 8 p.m. at 802 9th St., Greeley. The concert is open to all ages with a valid photo I.D. Tickets range from $20 per person for general admission up to $120 for a reserved table for four. 6. Café Vino is hosting a New Year's Eve Tasting Menu from 5-9 p.m. at 1200 S. College Ave., Fort Collins with a four-course fare that includes appetizers, main dishes and dessert created by Chef Ryan Smith along with wine pairings. 7. The New Year's Eve Soiree is set for 8 p.m. at the Historic Cheyenne Depot, 121 W. 15th St., Cheyenne. The black-tie affair will include hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, mocktails, dancing, a champagne midnight toast and more for adults age 18 and older. 8. Make New Year's Eve one to remember by attending the Irish You a Happy New Year at 4 p.m. at Mex O'Malley's, 548 N. Lincoln Ave. in Loveland. The event will be celebrating NYE on Irish time with a 3-course meal and traditional Irish food. The party is open to adults age 21 and older and admission is $45 per person. 9. Ring in the New Year with High Brau Taphouse from 6 p.m. to midnight at 915 16th St., Greeley. Adults age 21 and older can enjoy beer and cocktail specials as well as a free flute of Brute cider at midnight. There is no cost to attend the event. 10. The Life Is Beautiful New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball hosted by Break the Silence takes place at 7 p.m. at The Hall, 204 W. Beaver Ave., Fort Morgan. Ring in 2023 with drink specials, a food truck, an arcade, live band and more. Tickets are $10 per person online in advance and $15 per person at the door. 11. The Solid Gold New Year's Eve Party is set to go down at 4 p.m. at the Wicked Tequila Room, 123 E. 4th St., Loveland with drink specials, a balloon drop, live DJ and more. Come dressed in your best disco outfits to party the night away. Admission is free up to 8 p.m. when a cover charge goes into place. Sunday, Jan. 1

12. Journey Christian Church is hosting a special New Year's Day service at 6 p.m. at 4754 W. 31st St. in Greeley. All ages are welcome to attend the service and there will not be any separate kids' programming. For more information, contact Journey Christian Church at (970) 304-9567.

13. Spend the first day of 2023 enjoying nature at the Wyoming State Parks' First Day Hikes 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Curt Gowdy State Park, 1264 Granite Springs Road, Cheyenne. The free event is open to all ages and will include hikes lead by staff as well as the chance to win prizes. Hikes will range from 1 to 4 miles. Registration is not required to attend. 14. Create a clear mind for 2023 by attending the New Year's Day: 30-minute Medication and Intention Sharing Circle with Tony Pham at 3 p.m. online. The program will include meditation for all skill levels from beginners to advanced as well as sharing of goals and intentions for the upcoming year. Tuesday, Jan. 3

15. Tour the Sistine Chapel from the warmth and comfort of your home with World Virtual Tours at 11:30 a.m. online. Thursday, Jan. 5

16. The National Western Stock Show kicks off with its annual parade, presented by Arrow Electronics at noon beginning at Union Station, 1701 Wynkoop St. in Denver. Join parade Grand Marshal Dr. Temple Grandin along with dozens of other entries such as floats, marching bands, equestrian groups and the traditional longhorns. 17. What is Sustainability? presented by the Garbage Education Center is set for 10:30 a.m. at 5887 S. Taft Hill Road, Bld. D in Fort Collins. The free event will teach attendees age 3 and older about how to become more sustainable, making sustainable choices and challenge them to a sustainability building challenge using LEGOs. Friday, Jan. 6

18. House with a Yard Duo performs at 7:30 p.m.  at Black and Blues Music and Brews, 423 N. Cleveland Ave., Loveland. The group is an indie folk rock project founded by songwriter Davey Wallace. The band's music embraces jazz/funk, classical, bluegrass, rock and more. All ages are welcome to attend and there is no cover. For more information, email  blackandbluesloveland@gmail.com.

19. First Friday Art Walk steps off at 6 p.m. in downtown Fort Collins with a self-guided tour of local galleries. Participants can explore a wide variety of art genres and mediums including fine art, sculptures, pottery and more featured in more than 20 galleries. 20. The AMA Arenacross Championship roars into northern Colorado at 7:30 p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center, 5290 Arena Circle, Loveland. Presented by Kick Audio, the event will showcase the nation's top riders going head to head on the indoor dirt track. 21. Magician Hayden Childress is performing at 8 p.m. at The Lincoln Center, 417 W. Magnolia St., Fort Collins. Childress, who hails from New York, will perform a variety of magic and mentalist tricks that combines sleight of hand, comedy and psychology into an engaging and entertaining affair. The show is recommended for audience members ages 13 and older. Tickets are $25 per person or $33 per person depending on seat choice. 22. Wyoming native Ned LeDoux is taking the stage at 7 p.m. at The Lincoln Cheyenne, 1615 Central Ave. to carry on the tradition of his dad, Chris LeDoux, along with performing some of his newest pieces from his third full-length album.
