Robert Lewandowski couldn't hide his delight after having it confirmed that Poland had reached the World Cup's last 16.
Poland's captain was a part of the side who endured a frustrating night in Group C after falling to a 2-0 defeat against Argentina.
Lewandowski was a happy man after hearing that Saudi Arabia had scored against Mexico
That late strike was enough to confirm Poland's spot in the last 16 following a dramatic night in Group C
In a poor performance, Poland left themselves vulnerable to missing out on a spot in the knockout stages due to Mexico's performance in the group's other game.
Simultaneous to Poland going 2-0 down to Argentina, Mexico put in a dominant display to go 2-0 up against Saudi Arabia in the other group game taking place.
That scoreline, combined with Poland's two-goal deficit to Lionel Messi and co. meant that Lewandowski's nation and Mexico were level on points and goal difference, meaning their disciplinary record was all that was keeping Poland in second spot.
As the full-time whistle went in the clash with Argentina, Poland waited on confirmation of the score from Mexico against Saudi Arabia, knowing that one more goal for Mexico would have been enough to squeeze into the last 16 at Poland's expense.
However, a late goal from Salem Aldawsari gave Saudi Arabia a consolation in a 2-1 defeat and ensured that Poland's spot in the next round was secured.
Lewandowski will now be hoping that Poland can put in a stronger performance when they take on France in the next round
Watching on at full-time, Lewandowski couldn't hide his delight as he beamed with happiness.
It's the first time Poland have reached the next round since 1986 and the 34-year-old striker is likely to be featuring in his final World Cup so will be delighted at prolonging his stay in Qatar.
But with a clash with France coming up next, Lewandowski and his teammates will be need to be on their game if they're to go any further.
