Liverpool were saved from conceding an opener in their 1-0 win against Napoli by the narrowest of semi-automated offside calls.
Former Brighton, Stoke and Coventry defender Leo Ostigard appeared to have given the Italians a second half lead, only to be denied by the tiniest of margins.

Ostigard reeled off in celebration

But was denied after a four minute delay
The Norwegian defender had the ball in the net in the 53rd minute when he headed in a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia cross before celebrating wildly in front of the away end.
However, a VAR goal check was instantly called, with Victor Osimhen offside by a clear margin.
Ostigard looked more marginal though, before UEFA's semi-automated technology showed his head just in front of Ibrahima Konate's shoulder.
But despite the new technology offering a fast response to offside calls, it was four minutes until Tobias Stieler overruled the goal.
That gave Liverpool a lifeline as they seeked to avoid a third defeat in four games.
The Reds had already qualified for the knockout stage of the Champions League, despite a torrid start to their Premier League campaign.

Ostigard's head was just off
But they claimed the three points on the night as Mohamed Salah scrambled the ball home on 85 minutes after Darwin Nunez's header was spilled by Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret before Nunez fired in the final act of the match.
The result sees Liverpool finish level on points with Napoli, but they come second in the group as the Italian side have a better head-to-head record.
