PCSO, Mandaluyong City (SDN) -- QUITE A STUNNER HERE, WHAT WITH 433 bets or tickets winning a lotto jackpot.
The PCSO acknowledged that for the very first time there are hundreds of winners for a single jackpot.
On Saturday, October 01, 2022, a total of winning tickets hit Grand Lotto 6/55's Php236-million jackpot; the winning tickets will share the prize equally, with each one getting just over half a million at Php545,000.
This journalist has been covering the PCSO for some 10 years since the administration of the then President Benigno S. Aquino III.
The most number of winners then for a single jackpot was six bettors who won and shared Lotto 6/42's jackpot.
Grand Lotto's draw on Saturday came up with the winning combination of 09-45-36-27-18-54
The instance of the 433 winners of a single jackpot has created turmoil on social media, some netizens crying foul. "Lutong makaw" they cried.
And PCSO officials led by Chairman Junie Cua have heard the cries of foul.
That's why on a Sunday, today, October 2, Cua, former congressman and governor of Quirino province, will clear out and explain in a media briefing the instance of the 433 winners. (✓)
