Moldovan MMA fighter Luca Poclit shocked the world when he scored a unique submission win in his Bellator debut last week.
The 33-year-old picked up one of the most bizarre wins of 2022 as he put his opponent, Dante Schiro, to sleep with a previously unseen choke in the first fight of Bellator 285 that took place at the 3Arena in Dublin.

Poclit locked up a previously unseen submission
Late in round two, Poclit was mounted but managed to explode out before sitting up to his knees and grabbing hold of Schiro's head with his left arm in what seemed like a Hail Mary choke attempt.
At this point, it appeared that the fight had come to a standstill until the man who trains with UFC legend Conor McGregor at SBG Ireland, freed his own head and postured up to apply pressure that ultimately put his opponent out.
Poclit was announced the winner by 'modified arm-triangle' but it has since been revealed that the submission has a different name around his gym because of how frequently he uses it.
"I did it many times in the gym, I admit that I didn't always succeed, but there are boys who still fell asleep, even during training," Poclit told talkSPORT.
"Anyway, the most important thing is that I managed to do it in the fight. I don't know if it has a name, I've never seen this fighting technique before, but after the viral videos I understand that everyone calls it 'Luca-Nator.'"
Poclit claims that this is not a submission technique that was taught to him and is something he simply came up with after years of grappling experience.

Both men looked out of it but only one of them actually was at Bellator Dublin

Poclit celebrated with world-renowned MMA coach, John Kavanagh
"I can't say that someone taught me," he added.
"I have a lot of experience, I have been doing freestyle wrestling since I was 9 years old, so now I have reached the level where I have a lot of fighting techniques in my luggage that are very difficult to execute for most athletes and that even I find it difficult to explain."
After enjoying a viral win in his Bellator debut, the 8-1 fighter is ready to continue his journey that he hopes will end with him bringing a title back to his gym for 'the best trainer in the world, John Kavanagh.'
"I want to reach the belt as soon as possible. I want to bring the belt to the SBG gym as soon as possible," Poclit concluded.
While it's currently unclear when Poclit will return to action, a couple of things are clear.
Fighters all over the world are trying to learn his unique submission right now and his potential opponents are scrambling to come up with a way to defend against it.
