Weld County officials reported a total of 98,494 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began as of Tuesday, an increase of 470 from a week ago.
The county's one-week average positive test rate is 8.29%, up from 7.3% last week. The Greeley area has the lowest rate in the county, 6.67%. Southwest Weld has the highest rate in the county, 12.64%.
The seven-day total COVID-19 hospitalization rate is 6.39 per 100,000 residents, up from 3.65 a week ago.
About 3.4% of patients in regional hospitals are COVID-19 patients, up from 3.2% the week prior.
The state health department reported 10 active outbreaks this week in Weld County:
- Good Samaritan Society Water Valley Senior Living Resort. Outbreak reported Aug. 26.
- Garden Square of Greeley. Outbreak reported Aug. 19.
- Stephen's Farm at Adeo Colorado. Outbreak reported Aug. 16.
- Life Care Center of Greeley. Outbreak reported Aug. 8
- Garden Square at Westlake. Outbreak reported Aug. 4.
- YMCA Inspire Preschool – Johnstown. Outbreak reported July 18.
- Broadview Health and Rehabilitation Center. Outbreak reported July 6.
- Weld County Jail. Outbreak reported June 20.
- The Center at CenterPlace. Outbreak reported May 24.
- Fairacres Manor. Outbreak reported May 5.
The county reported 675 deaths due to COVID-19, an increase of two from the week prior. The state reported 724 deaths among Weld residents who had the virus, an increase of two from last week. The state also reported no new deaths due to COVID-19 in Weld, leaving that total at 613.
The state's one-week average positivity rate is 6.17%, according to state data. Mayo Clinic reports the national positivity rate is 14.4%.
Weld County reported 64.3% of the eligible population, including children 6 months and older, have been vaccinated with at least one dose as of Aug. 26. About 59.4% have been fully vaccinated. A total of 99,207 additional doses have been administered.
The state reports 75.36% of the 5-and-up population have been fully immunized. A total of 2,199,150 people have received additional doses.
