The NFL Network concluded their release of the NFL Top 100 on Sunday and the players have spoken.
For the fourth time since its inception, the list voted on by the players, has name quarterback Tom Brady the best player entering the new season. Now 45, Brady is entering his 23rd NFL season and is coming off a year in which he led the league with 43 touchdowns and 5,316 yards through the air.
Brady originally was named the league's best player in 2011 in the first installment of the NFL Top 100. He has never ranked lower than 14th which came in 2020, right before his first season with the Buccaneers. All he did that year was lead the Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl appearance and win since 2002 and his seventh overall.

His landing at the top of the list was almost not a possibility as he spent 40 days "retired" earlier this spring. However, upon his return, it is evident that the players still recognize the ability and are not just recognizing the name.
The three-time (should have been four) league MVP edged out current Super Bowl champion, Aaron Donald. Last season's MVP, Aaron Rodgers, lands at number three on the list while Patrick Mahomes lands at number eight.
