5.10: Shareef Star 2/1 (NAP)
He beat today's rival Sea Prince at Bangor in July and is only 2lb higher than him today, as both have since gone on to place or win again.
Sea Prince went on to win by 14l on reappearance but in novice company and as a result has been upped from a rating of 115 to 122.
That win was impressive but it doesn't seem like it will reverse the order this time out.
6.10: Jersey Wonder 7/1 (NB)
The big favourite The Turtle Said is a non-runner in this and makes it a very open six-runner contest.
There's little to split these horses in ratings and weight either so it rarely can come down to recent form, preference over distance and course.
But crucially it's to pick out those who thrive over hurdles in comparison to their rivals, which the outsider Jersey Wonder stands out considering his recent form in similar company.
Red Happy's a great chaser but faces a tough task as top-weight on just his third run over hurdles, but should be up there with Jersey Wonder given his prominent win over Go On Chez.
Landen Calling would also be an obvious choice given his big win in a novice event at Market Rasen and could be well-weighted returning to a handicap.
The first time visor for Jersey Wonder could prompt more from this six-year-old at least for an each-way chance.
Southwell racing tips
2.20: Fast Response 8/1
This is a great each-way chance considering Fast Response was seen in Class 2 company last time.
That field was just too strong but a return to Class 4 company is well in her wheel house.
At Haydock two starts ago she was just under a length away and has only been seen once on the all-weather.
That ninth place finish can be forgiven since it was a competitive listed race over a distance she's only attempted four times.
