PSV Eindhoven are resigned to losing Cody Gakpo to Manchester United this summer, reports claim.
The Premier League side are keen on the 23-year-old forward as an alternative to Ajax's Antony should they miss out on the Brazil star.
Gakpo could not prevent a 1-0 defeat to Rangers on Wednesday night
talkSPORT understands United have made a third bid for £85million-rated Antony, who wants to leave Ajax, but the Dutch giants remain reluctant to sell.
Gakpo is thought to be available at around £42m and United were boosted in their pursuit of the Netherlands international on Wednesday night.
PSV were beaten to the Champions League group stage by Rangers and must now settle for Europa League football.
With United also in Europe's second tier this season, qualifying for the Champions League was PSV's only bargaining tool in the Gakpo negotiations.
De Telegraaf reports the defeat to Rangers could be Gakpo's last appearance in a PSV shirt after the Eredivisie club accepted his departure 'cannot be prevented', while United have 'serious plans' for him.
Gakpo scored 12 goals and registered 13 assists in 27 top-flight appearances in the Netherlands last season.
Gakpo has been on United's radar all summer
Meanwhile, Antony is thought to be on strike at Ajax as the 22-year-old tries to push through a move to Old Trafford.
The Dutch giants have already lost defender Lisandro Martinez to United, who are now led by ex-Ajax boss Erik ten Hag.
United are aiming for a strong finish to an underwhelming transfer window and recently announced the £70m signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid.
The Brazil midfielder follows Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia through to door at Old Trafford this summer.
