Manchester City have reached total agreement to sign Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund. The centre-back will be making the move from the German side for €17 million.
City have moved fast to sign the defender, since their interest has now turned into a concrete deal. The move has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, which means that it is into a matter of time before everything is completed. The two sets of lawyers are now preparing the contracts to make the transfer official prior to deadline day.

The 27-year-old made over 150 appearances for the black and yellow club, and won the DFL Pokal with them. With only one year remaining on his contract, he will now be moving on to a new challenge at the Etihad Stadium.
The Swiss international has a good chance of facing his old club in the Champions League since the two have been drawn in the same group. Moreover, he will also be linking up with Erling Haaland, who was his teammate at Borussia Dortmund.
Manuel Akanji attracted interest from several clubs in the Premier League. But, City have won the race for him in the end. He is entering his prime years as a footballer, and could be a great addition to the squad. Despite his arrival, no existing centre-backs will be leaving the club this season.
