A 36-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of attempted murder charges after he fired rounds at patrons outside of a Greeley bar.
Efren Sanchez, 36, is facing eight counts of first-degree attempted murder charges with four counts after deliberation and four counts with extreme indifference, according to a Greeley police news release.
At 11:15 p.m. Aug. 13, officers responded to a shooting at the Rancho El Corazon bar at 125 East 18th Street. After arriving at the chaotic crime scene, officers encountered two victims shot.
The victims survived after being taken to a local hospital, police said.
An investigation revealed Sanchez, the masked suspect, arrived outside the bar in a vehicle, exited the car and fired dozens of rounds from a rifle at people standing outside the bar, the release said.
Sanchez fled the scene in an unknown direction before the officer's arrived.
Greeley police issued a warrant for Sanchez's arrest Saturday after identifying him as the suspect. Officers located him and took him into custody without incident.
He was booked into the Weld County Jail on the warrant.
