Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares has agreed to join Marseille on loan, talkSPORT understands.
And with it, he has secured an upgrade to play Champions League football next season and a level above his Gunners teammates.

Tavares is on his way out of Arsenal on loan
Tavares has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal following the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The 22-year-old left-back joined the Gunners last summer from Benfica in his native Portugal.
He made 28 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and two assists, including 13 starts in the Premier League.
But it appears he did not convince manager Mikel Arteta he was good enough to play a further part in the Spanish coach's Gunners revolution.
Tavares was behind Kieran Tierney in the Arsenal starting XI anyway, but Zinchenko's arrival from Man City for £30million pushed the Portuguese ace further down the list.

Tavares played plenty of games for Arsenal last season but it appears Arteta is not fully convinced by him

Arteta and Edu have been busy this summer with the arrival of Zinchenko pushing Tavares further down the Arsenal pecking order
And it's understood he is now on his way to France with Marseille, and is set to undergo his medical with the Ligue 1 club on Friday.
Tavares was previously set to join Serie A club Atalanta on loan, only for that deal to collapse earlier in the window.
That has allowed Marseille to enter the race, with Taveres set to enjoy Champions League football with the French side this season - while his Arsenal teammates will be playing in the Europa League.
