African UFC stars Israel Adesanya and Francis Ngannou have taken aim at Jon Jones who mocked 'The Last Stylebender' following his latest win.
Adesanya retained his UFC middleweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Jared Cannonier at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
The judges scored the contest 49-46, 49-46, 50-45 in the champ's favour before he hopped on the mic and called out Alex Pereira – the man who knocked him out during their kickboxing days.
Adesanya easily defended his title at UFC 276
Earlier in the evening, 'Po Atan' stopped Sean Strickland inside two minutes to make himself the number one contender at middleweight and set up a mouth-watering trilogy fight with Adesanya.
The former UFC light-heavyweight champion couldn't help but laugh at Adesanya calling out Pereira because the 185lb king had his fingernails painted and referenced a famous Disney film while doing so.
"Bro I can't stop thinking about this s***. How are you going to threaten a guy like Alex with glossy fingernails and a frozen reference. I'm over here scratching my head," Jones wrote on social media.
By the time he had arrived for the UFC 276 post-fight press conference, Adesanya had got wind of Jones' comments and gave an angry reaction when 'Bones' was brought up to him by the media.
Jones has had a long rivalry with Adesanya and couldn't resist taking shots after UFC 276
'The Last Stylebender' has become one of the biggest stars in MMA
"F*** Jon Jones. F*** Jon. I don't want to hear about that b****. Why's he got to talk about my nails for? F*** him. I don't really give a f*** what he thinks," he said.
The UFC heavyweight champion doesn't think Jones is in a position to mock, given Adesanya has become one of the most successful middleweight fighters of all time in recent years.
"Since Jones been siting back and talking s*** Izzy have defended his title a least 5 times. Well done CHAMP Israel Adesanya Some people talk and some act," Ngannou wrote on social media.
Jones has not competed since picking up a controversial decision win over Dominick Reyes in February 2020.
After that fight, the 34-year-old relinquished his 205lb title and announced that he will compete at heavyweight moving forward. However, the bulking-up process and a contract issue with the UFC delayed his divisional debut.
UFC president Dana White recently confirmed that all obstacles in the way of Jones' next fight have been overcome and he is now just waiting on an opponent.
"Jon Jones is ready to go. We're just waiting for an opponent," White told Jim Rome.

Francis Ngannou KO'd Stipe Miocic to become champ
"It's either going to be Francis [Ngannou], depending on how long his knee is going to take to recover, or Stipe Miocic."
After he'd finished ripping into Adesanya, Jones revealed that he would prefer a fight with Miocic over Ngannou.
Despite the fact 'The Predator' is the current heavyweight king after knocking out Stipe and picking up a decision win over Ciryl Gane, Jones thinks a win over him isn't worth much at this point.
"At this point I'm looking to fight Stipe [Miocic], I think it proves a lot more. Fighting a fairly one-dimensional fighter fresh off of knee surgery [Francis Ngannou]. I don't know, I believe beating Stipe says more at this point," Jones wrote on social media.
