A Greeley City Council member will serve as Colorado Municipal League president until next June.
The Colorado Municipal League executive board elected council member Dale Hall as president during the organization's Annual Business Meeting Thursday in Breckenridge, according to a news release from the league.
"The Colorado Municipal League is a fierce advocate at the legislature and in the courts for what makes municipalities more efficient and effective," Hall said. "Along with that, Colorado Municipal League supports training and education of municipal elected officials and staff. More is done when we work together."
Hall has been a long-time Greeley resident since the 7th grade, as well as a life-long Colorado resident. He is married to Susie, and the two have a daughter named Kimberly.
His family owns and operates a property management company in Greeley with more than 30 years of property management experience under their belt. He also has 30 years of experience in the financial advisory industry.
Prior to owning his own business, Dale served in the army during the Vietnam War and worked as a deputy sheriff with the Weld County Sheriff's Office upon returning home from the war.
Dale has served many roles in Colorado, including the Joint Budget Committee as Colorado State Representative in District 48 and as chair of Colorado Counties Inc's Finance Committee. He was elected to the office of commissioner for Weld County.
His extensive community involvement through organization boards also includes work on the Greeley Housing Authority, Greeley/Weld Airport Authority, Colorado Aeronautical Board and the Greeley Planning Commission.
Kevin Bommer, Colorado Municipal League executive director, said he is looking forward to Dale, a leader in the community who has worn multiple hats, serving as president for a year.
"In this role, he will preside over Colorado Municipal League's board and help chart the League's policy priorities," Bommer said in the release. "His insights and leadership continue to be highly valued by Colorado Municipal League and help ensure Colorado Municipal League continues to be the primary source for municipal officials statewide for their advocacy, information, and training needs."
In addition to Dale, the league elected Thornton Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Sandgren as vice president, Colorado Springs City Attorney Wynetta Massey as secretary-treasurer and Centennial City Attorney Bob Widner as immediate past president.
Colorado Municipal League's executive board is comprised of 21 elected officials and key municipal staff members, the release said. The board is responsible for finances, management and policy affairs of the organization.
