Anthony Joshua insists Tyson Fury is welcome at his local pub in Watford, but fears the Gypsy King would 'drink him under the table'.
Joshua is preparing for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on August 20 - which could set-up an all-British heavyweight unification fight with Fury.
Joshua addressed the UK media ahead of his fight in Saudi Arabia in August
The Gypsy King continues to insist he is retired, but many expect the WBC champion to fight the winner of Joshua vs Usyk 2 regardless.
AJ, who is bidding to win back the three belts he lost to The Cat in September 2021, is among those who expect Fury back in the ring.
When asked by talkSPORT whether the Fury fight will happen, Joshua said: "100 per cent. I think it's one that we have to have. However, he feels is how he feels.
"He's a fighting man, so if anyone calls him out, he'll be straight back out."
If Joshua reclaims the WBO, WBA and IBF world titles this summer, perhaps he could negotiate a bout with Fury at The Badger in Watford.
Despite plenty of trash-talk between the two British heavyweights over the years, a mutual respect exists between them and Joshua insists Fury is welcome down his local boozer.
Fury is known for his party lifestyle outside the ring
When asked which Tyson is his favourite, Mike or Fury, Joshua told The Sun: "It's got to be Tyson Fury, he's got to be my favourite.
"He's one of the lads.
"Guinness and Ribena down The Badger. He would drink me under the table.
"He's welcome down The Badger."
And when asked by talkSPORT if he had a message for Fury, there was nothing but class from Joshua.
He said: "Hope you're good, family's good, wife's good, kids' good, dad's good.
"Respecting all you've achieved, well done."
