This old adage was certainly true for the grandson of Muhammad Ali, Nico Ali Walsh, who was filmed practicing the same shot that he knocked Alejandro Ibarra out with moments before he went to the ring.

Ali Walsh's fledgling career has commanded a considerable amount of attention since making his professional debut, which is understandable given the iconic status of his grandfather.
The middleweight has somewhat impressed so far, winning his first four fights with three knockouts.
But on Saturday night, on the undercard of Stevenson vs Valdez, he made a real statement with a stunning stoppage victory to move to 5-0.
This knockout, however, was not just a lucky shot as footage has emerged of Ali Walsh practicing that same very punch moments before his fight.
ESPN Ringside tweeted the video with the caption: "Nico Ali Walsh practiced the KO punch right before he walked to the ring."
And, in his post-fight interview, Ali Walsh spoke about the punch that earned him the victory.
"This is just a testament to all the work I put in." Ali Walsh said. "Stuff like this happens when you put the work in.
"I'm bringing my grandpa back to life, and that's why mom gets so emotional because she's seeing her dad again and hearing her dad's name to me.
"I was setting him up with the right hand. I noticed his left hand was going down when he threw the jab.
"I was trying to counter it, and that's what I did.
"I wish the best for him and his team. He's a true warrior. But I just waited for that setup, and I saw it and I took advantage"
